The Disciple asks, What makes it so pleasurable - the thought of being desirable?

Not as easily answered as I thought. The thought of being desirable doesn't give me any thrill. It's all based on someone else's opinion, and there aren't many opinions that mean anything to me. Partly because, yes, I'm that self-assured. Partly because there are so few people who've earned my respect.

So my answer is the answer to a different question. Why do I enjoy it when my company's wanted? If the sentiment runs both ways - because it's an affirmation. Because it takes the edge off being alone.
